Ferdaws Nayimi

Fighter

My name is Ferdaws Nayimi, I was born in 1996 March 27 in Afghanistan. When I was three years old, my parents decided to flee Afghanistan because of the Civil War between the Taliban and the Mujahid so we decided to flee on foot for two weeks, leaving Afghanistan to Iran from Iran to Pakistan from Pakistan to Tajikistan from Tajikistan to Pakistan from Uzbekistan to Russia. I grew up in Moscow from 1999 till 2004 growing up in Russia was very rough, especially around the same time due to the Russian and Afghanistan were being very recent around the time faced a lot of racism, bullying and hardship ways to live 15 people with my other siblings in a one bedroom apartment. The way we made a living was selling food and catering in the bazaar to the store owners. After that my dad became slowly successful and open his own stores fast-forward to 2004. We’re being denied to be citizens and we decided to flee Russia it might be too Sister their country beside them that was called Belarus Belarus was much more smaller quieter better living than in Moscow. I grew up in Belarus from 2004 till 2009 I went to school graduated grade 5 and got into martial arts. I got into martial arts, mainly to be able to defend myself out in the streets, my young siblings since I was the oldest one, but also to gain more confidence within me and being shaped since I was a little bit, chubby kid my first fight was in 2007 and I was inspired by my uncle that was a national champion in Afghanistan he convinced my mom and dad to sign me up to gym nearby. My house in 2006 ever since I went to the gym became my escape route being away from problems at home in school and in industries, it was a temple where I could go and be surrounded but good people in my environment and have a positive influence being around professional fighters in 2009. My dad found a sponsorship opportunity to my greatest in Canada and we moved to Toronto and grew up since then from 2009 until now I went to school graduated going to traits went to become a plumber and as all of this was happening or still competing at the amateur level of Muay Thai I kept fighting became number one in Canada, but opportunities were limited because I didn’t have a Canadian citizenship so I quit the sport for about a year and a half and went into trades to work and provide for my family and after that once I receive my passport, I got back into the sport and start competing all over the world in America I got opportunity to join team Canada for kickboxing which will be grateful for and after when I was on the national team, I got to tour around to China, Mexico, America, and other places representing Canada. In 2019 I went to see my first MMA fight in Ottawa. The main event was cowboy Cerrone versus Al Quinta ever since I watched that fight I fell in love with the sport and then joined the mma gym wish was two hours away from my house and I will come four hours every day after working intensive plumbing job as a plumber and then in Covid things became to shut down in Canada so I quit my job move to Pennsylvania and met Coach Isaac final Love with MMA started having my amateur fights when I’m defeated 5-0 and then one and two fight pro and kept fighting. Living in Pennsylvania with the definitely did humble me and show me a lot of great hardships that shape me who I am today and sleeping in the gym no job no parents no family and kept training Daley and fell in love with the game. After that I kept fighting became 6-0 currently and still chasing my dreams to make it to the top leagues.
